George Rizsanyi has become recognized world wide for the design and construction of his exquisite, hand-made, custom-built guitars. Made with a connoisseur's dedication to playability, comfort and acoustic quality, his guitars have been chosen by top performers in the United States and Canada.
Each guitar is built in a quiet rural studio nestled in the great pines on the edge of the La Have River Valley. All custom instruments are made by hand, with hand-carved necks, bridges and inlays. Traditions of excellence and dedication of hand-crafted quality are built into all guitars, benefits quickly appreciated by playing a Rizsanyi. The materials used in a Rizsanyi custom-built guitar can be chosen for custom sound and performance qualities. Traditional instruments built with East Indian rosewood, Sitka spruce, mahogany and ebony develop concert grade sound and projection. Unique to the Rizsanyi studio are guitars made with indigenous woods, some found on the property of Rizsanyi, others harvested from neighbouring hillsides and ravines. These include black ash, cherry, butternut, yellow poplar, tamarac, birds-eye maple, hawthorn, and wild apple. Guitars made from these woods give an exciting and thrilling sound, adding unique tonal characters to each instrument.
