All instruments are made by hand, with hand-carved necks, bridges and inlays. The materials used in a Rizsanyi custom-built guitar can be chosen for custom sound and performance qualities. Traditional instruments built with East Indian rosewood, Sitka spruce, mahogany and ebony develop concert grade sound and projection.
Unique to the Rizsanyi studio are guitars made with indigenous woods, some found on the property of Rizsanyi, others harvested from neighbouring hillsides and ravines. These include black ash, cherry, butternut, yellow poplar, tamarac, birds-eye maple, hawthorn, and wild apple. Guitars made from these woods give an exciting and thrilling sound, adding unique tonal characters to each instrument.
